The record
License, insurance and bond, in plain words
Each paper below is real, and each one protects you differently. The numbers in the sample are placeholders: the owner enters the real ones, and you can look them up with the board before you hire anyone.
State license

The firm
Veteran owned
C-21
What C-21 does and does not cover
A class is a scope. Staying inside it is part of being licensed.
It covers
Installing, repairing and servicing refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, including its own controls.
It does not cover
General plumbing, gas piping, or electrical service work beyond the equipment's own connection. When a job needs one of those, we say so and send you to a firm that holds that class.
How to check it
Search the license number on the Nevada State Contractors Board website. It shows the class, the status and any complaints.
Questions
About the papers
What does the bond do?
If a customer has a valid claim against our work and we do not resolve it, the bond is where the board can look for payment. It does not repair anything and it is not insurance.
What is the difference between insurance and the bond?
Insurance pays for damage our work causes to your property. The bond backs a valid claim about the work itself. You want both from any contractor.
Why do you list the owner's discharge papers?
Because "veteran-owned" is easy to say and hard to check. The papers show it is true, and we show them on request. It is not a government business listing, and we do not call it one.
