Henderson, Nevada
Abney Air & Refrigeration is four people in Henderson. We repair home air conditioning and restaurant refrigeration, put the quote in writing before work starts, and print the hours we answer on every page.
Where is it failing?

On the record
Nevada licenses contractors by class. Ours is C-21, refrigeration and air-conditioning. Each line below is a number you can look up or a paper we hand you.

What we fix
The same four people work on both, so a restaurant's cooler and a family's AC get the same diagnosis, the same written quote and the same test before we leave.

Repair of split systems, package units and heat pumps in houses and condos. We find what failed, quote the repair in writing, and test the system before we leave.
Not cooling, short cycling or iced coils
Capacitors, contactors, fan motors and thermostats
Refrigerant leaks located before anything is added

Walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, prep tables and ice machines. We work around your service, and we tell you what to do with product while we diagnose.
Warm walk-ins and freezers that will not hold temperature
Evaporator and condenser fan motors, defrost and controls
Ice machines that stop making or stop releasing ice
A call, step by step
No "soon" and no surprise at the door.
Melody or Carlton asks what is running, what is warm, and how long it has been that way. A photo of the nameplate helps.
A time range for the visit, not a vague promise. If the schedule is full we say so and tell you when the next opening is.
Gauges, meter and a look at the whole system, so the first part we name is the one that failed.
Parts, labor and what the repair does not cover, in a text or email you can read. We start when you say yes.
We run the system until it holds temperature, then show you the readings.
What we found, what we did and what to watch, sent the same day.
Plans
One price a year for each. A plan is not insurance: parts, refrigerant and repairs are quoted separately, in writing.

Honest hours
Four people cannot answer a phone all night, and we will not pretend to. This is what each kind of call gets.

Who answers
Four people: Carlton on the license, Analilia in the kitchens, Jomar on houses and Melody on the phone.
Carlton spent his Army years keeping cooling equipment running, and he opened the shop when he settled in Henderson. The phone you reach is the shop's, not a call center, and the person who quotes the job is the person who stands behind it.
The person who quotes is the person who answers for the work
Written quote before any repair
A test and a report before we leave

Customers
“Our walk-in was at 52 degrees before lunch. Analilia found a dead evaporator fan motor, quoted it by text, and we were back under 38 before the dinner rush.”
“Jomar showed me the gauge readings and the dirty coil, and told me the system was fine apart from a capacitor. The text quote was exactly what I paid.”
“I called on a Saturday morning and Melody gave me a two-hour window. Jomar arrived inside it.”
“They keep our ice machine on the kitchen plan. Four visits a year and a written report each time. Easy to hand to the health inspector.”

Service area
Henderson and the southeast side of the valley. Four people can only be in so many places in a day, so we keep to a short list.
We do not work in Summerlin, North Las Vegas or Boulder City on a normal day. If you are outside the list, call: we will say yes or point you to a firm that goes there.

Questions
C-21 is the Nevada class for refrigeration and air-conditioning contractors. It covers repair and replacement of cooling equipment. It does not cover plumbing, gas piping or electrical work beyond the equipment's own connection, so we say so when a job needs another trade.
Not around the clock. The shop phone is staffed Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. After that, Carlton answers when he can, and plan kitchens are called back first. Our hours page says exactly what to expect.
We quote the visit fee when you call and again in writing at the door. If you approve the repair, the fee is credited toward it. Parts, refrigerant and labor for the repair are quoted before we start.
No. A plan is a service agreement: scheduled visits, a priority window and a labor discount with terms. It does not pay for parts or repairs, and the plans page lists what is and is not included.
Both. When a repair no longer makes sense we say so, show you the numbers, and quote a replacement in writing. You decide, and nothing is ordered until you do.
Keep the door closed, check that the unit has power, and note the temperature on the thermometer. Then call. Our restaurant page lists when to move product and what to tell us on the phone.
Send it to the shop
A few details help us send the right person with the right parts. Melody or Carlton calls you back during staffed hours.
After 6 p.m. and on Sundays, Carlton answers when he can. Plan kitchens are called back first.
